"JOSEPH SEAMANDS: Their [Joseph & Elizabeth Seamans (sic)] son Ephraim Seamands (1720-1801) married Mary Pew and eventually settled in Albemarle County. Ephraim's son, Jonathan Seamands (1757-1833) was born in Caroline County, and lived in Orange and Albemarle Counties before moving to Jefferson County Tennessee... Submitted by: Dr. Mark S. Still."

"SEAMONDS: Elijah Seamonds, who was born in Albemarle County, Virginia, came to Cabell County at an early date. He was the son (sic) of Ephriam Seamonds, who served in the Albemarle Militia during the Revolutionary War and died in 1801.
"Elijah Seamonds married a Keeton, sister to Mrs. Justine Keeton Sandridge, wife of Reubens Sandridge, who were early settlers in Cabell County, and it has been said that the two families came to the county at the same time, as they both lived near Barboursville, one on Mud River, and the other on Merritts Creek, a tributary of Mud River.
"Elijah Seamonds was one of the early school teachers, and was a man of influence in his day. He had a number of children; among them being William R, and Elijah G, Jr, who lived near Davis' Creek..."

Here in Albemarle a book is coming out this year on the desc. of Ephraim Seamonds Jr. A church in Earlysville is doing it. I don't have the info off hand of who to contact so contact either me or Joan Graves c/o Albemarle Historical Society

The book on the Albemarle county Va. Seamonds and Wood is finished. From the cover it says over 4,900 individuals on 462 pages. There are four chapters Ephraim Seamonds Sr., Zachariah Wood, Harrison Wood, John Wood. The price is 39.50 (includes shipping). Make check payable to Friends of Union Church.
