   General Notes:

SOURCE
Email- John Richard SHAW- May 2001:
"I never thought that at age 48 I would learn of a 2nd cousin who also hails from St. Louis....and who now lives only a few miles up the road in Maryland. You probably don't recall but we met once before. It was at your folks' house during a family get-together just after Christmas. I'm thinking it was in '64 because I would have been 11 years old at the time.
"Why does this stick in my memory? Eleven is the age at which I joined the Boy Scouts, and I recall being impressed with the fact that you were an Eagle Scout (What impressionable young Tenderfoot wouldn't be impressed?). From Eagle Scout to Neuro-Surgeon: no surprise there! (I made it to Life Scout; 13 merit badges was all I could muster. I was too much of a runt to even consider attempting the Life Saving badge.)
"Thank you for mailing to me the reunion invitation. Regretably, I probably will not be in St. Louis at that time. I will be in Charleston, S.C. from Wednesday until Saturday June 23, and the following week I have a job-related commitment which compels me to remain in Maryland. And because I prefer staying for more than a day or two when I visit St. Louis, it doesn't look like it's going to work for me. But I wish you and whomever else involved the best and trust that you'll have a robust turnout. Given that the reunion is described as a "1st Annual", perhaps I'll make it another time. And perhaps we can touch base sometime in this neck of the woods, say, in Annapolis over drafts of good brew? Anyway, despite my pending absence from the reunion I provide below the answers to the questionnaire.

2nd (and successful) attempt: University of Maryland at College Park, '90 - '94, B.A. in Philosophy (some things never change) and
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Miltary Service:

If you need me to fill in any blanks regarding the questionnaire, don't hesitate to ask. Incidentally, I'd be very interested in hearing your bio. Hope to stay in touch.
